readings 7/2

In writing a memoir: The involvement of art with craft; by : Frank F. Mathias. They discuss how many World War I & II veterans failed to write a memoir. it tells you how to write an interesting memoir by telling the truth yet using some imagination. in writing a memoir you must always remember that you are telling a story about yourself. Meaning you must always write who you really. the author used the phrase “ you must expose yourself warts and all.” I personally believe that when you really want others to fully understand you; you must tell all your flaws, bad habits, and show your scars. Being fake or “ politically correct” when in truth you are not either of those two will only give others a false perception of you. Could it be that when the veterans wrote their memoirs they realized that they had memories that other should be objected too? What about if a veteran has post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD, could that be accountable for the lack of memoirs? Could another person write a memoir for someone else using personal letters or objects?

I completely agree! Way to go Krista!..lol. I would agree that yyou do have to show the real you or else you wouldnt be writing a memoir. If you write false things and fake things just to be politically correct, you would infact be writing a memoir, but it is a memoir about somebody else. Someone who is like what you are writing. If you write false things in your memoir its like telling lies about yourself and gives people the perception that you are fake. Its also pretty immature in my opinion.

Thank you Sam! i knew you would understand what i mean. immaturity is spreading like butter lately. i believe everyone should just be themselves! if others do not like it they can just find new friends. Also i think being cookie cutter type is boring. I like to stand out and have my emotions heard! It seems more interesting to read about exciting events rather then just a lame life.
